August 20, 1931 – September 21, 2011

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roscoe, MN for Bernard Ludwig, age 80, who died Wednesday at St. Cloud Hospital.  Burial will be in the St. Agnes Parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  The Paynesville Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Society, John Paul Newman Mission Group and Catholic United Financial will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home

Bernard was born in Farming, MN to Joseph P. and Mary (Gertken) Ludwig.  He married Geraldine Moser on October 20, 1954 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring, MN.  Bernard and Geraldine farmed south of Roscoe until 1994 when they retired and moved to Richmond.  He loved fishing, playing cards, farming and being with his family.  Bernard was a member of the Paynesville Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Society, John Paul Newman Mission Group, Catholic United Financial, and St. Agnes Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; children, Diann (Bob) Bellmont of Cold Spring, Darleen (Roger) Utsch of Paynesville, Doris (Tom) Wendlandt of Paynesville, Donna (Dale) Mackedanz of Roscoe, Dennis (Kathy) Ludwig of St. Augusta, Daniel (Connie) Ludwig of Paynesville, Duane (Cheri) Ludwig of Paynesville, Della (Reid) Bellig of Royalton, Darren (Jessica) Ludwig of St. Cloud; brothers and sisters, Lorraine (Myron) Wenner, Richard (Sheila) Ludwig, Mildred Schreifels, Sylvester (Joann) Ludwig, Lavern (Darlene) Ludwig, Agnes Lutgen, Marilyn Henry, Ralph (Anita) Ludwig; 34 Grandchildren; 21 Great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, David Ludwig, Denae Ludwig, Denise Vogt; brothers and sisters, Hildegard Ludwig, Julitta Schackmann, Joseph B. Ludwig.
