Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Cecelia “Ceal” Mimbach, age 97, who died Friday at Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Christian Women and Catholic United Financial. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Ceal was born in Arlingon, MN to Edward and Elizabeth (Wewer) Kauffmann. She married Alfred Mimbach on May 29,1944 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington. They lived in St. Martin on a farm until their retirement to Richmond in 1979. Ceal was a homemaker and a great cook. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul parish, St. Martin Christian Women, Senior citizens and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include her daughter Mary (Don) Holthaus, Richmond; foster son, Edward (Dorothy) Peine, Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred (Sept 14, 1994); 2 brothers; 2 sisters; foster son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Agnes Peine, and 3 grandchildren.
