Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Laverne Mandernach, age 78, who died Thursday at the St. Benedict’s Center. Burial will be in the St. Martin Parish Cemetery.
A visitation for Laverne will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the St Martin Parish Hall in St. Martin. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Christian Women. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Monday morning at the St. Martin Parish Hall.
Laverne was born in St. Martin, Minnesota to Peter and Catherine (Lieser) Mandernach. Laverne was a caregiver, especially to her mom and dad. She enjoyed her volunteer work at Vision Ease, Red Lobster and the VA Hospital. She loved music, bingo, cooking and baking, solving puzzles, and playing cards. She was an avid quilter and jewelry maker. Laverne was a member of St. Martin Parish and Christian Women.
Survivors include her sisters, Teresa Dingmann, Sr. Leonore Mandernach, OSB, Sr. Margaret Mandernach, OSB, Sr. Mary Mandernach, OSB, Lillian Smith; brothers, Br. Michael Mandernach, CSPX, Br. Robert Mandernach, OSC, Cyril Mandernach, John (Dianne) Mandernach; many nieces and nephews, and many grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph and Albert; infant sister; brother-in-law, Albert Dingmann, and nephew, Jim Dingmann.
