Memorial services for Arvid Ross Lang of rural Bertha and formerly of Paynesville, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha with Pastor Stephen Meltzer of St. John’s Lutheran Church presiding. Arvid passed away unexpectedly at the age of 75 years on Friday, September 30 at his home in Germania Township.
Arvid was born on December 29, 1935 to Lloyd Elgin and Alda Sophia (Block) Lang at Paynesville. He attended country school at rural Paynesville. After spending most of his life at Paynesville, he moved to live with his sister Gerry in Germania Township for three years. He then moved to Goldfield, NV for six years before returning earlier this year to Gerry’s home.
Arvid worked as a maintenance man and also farmed. He was a former member of the Paynesville Saddle Club. He enjoyed traveling and being outdoors fishing or hunting.
Arvid was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Alda; brothers Gilmore and LeRoy; and sister Vergeane Vogelpohl.
He is survived by brothers Llewellyn of Paynesville, Floyd of Paynesville and Roger of Eden Valley; sisters Juanita Moser of Paynesville and Gerry Bogatski of Bertha; and many nieces and nephews.
