Clemens W. “Clem” Bielefeld, 92
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 10 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich.
Clemens Wilhelm Bielefeld was born May 11, 1919 in Borg, Germany to Ernest and Anna (Grundmann) Bielefeld. He was united in marriage to Anna Stroth on July 18, 1951 in Borg, Germany. Clem and Anna immigrated to the United States in 1955 and lived in New Munich for over 50 years. Clem was a member and an employee of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich for many years. He also was a retired volunteer fireman in New Munich and a member of the New Munich Lions.
Survivors include his children, Maria (Vern) Greenwaldt of Isle, Joe (Wendy) Bielefeld of Cedar Rapids, IA, Clem (Margie) Bielefeld of Robbinsdale, Ruth (Ron) Neidrich of Baton Rouge, LA, Rita (Scott) Walker of Duluth, and Ernie (Deb) Bielefeld of Brooklyn Park; 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Clem was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Bielefeld on June 29, 2010; and brothers and sisters, Regina Hofzumberger, Anna, Fritz, Heiner, Ernst, Theo, and Elizabeth Bielefeld.
Serving as casket bearers will be Will Neidrich, Max Bielefeld, Seth Bielefeld, Daniel Bielefeld, Nicole Walker, and Sandie Walker. Cross bearers will be Melissa Bielefeld and Sheri Greenwaldt and scripture bearers will be Grant Bielefeld and Dana Bielefeld.
