Ronald “Ron” Brinker, 76
April 21, 1935 – October 6, 2011
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie, MN for Ronald “Ron” Brinker, age 76, who died Thursday at the Assumption Home. Burial will be in the St. James Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home.
Ron was born in Eden Lake Township, MN to John and Frances (Mackedanz) Brinker. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1954 to November 1956. Ron worked at Peters Market and later Vogt Market as a butcher for many years. He then worked as the custodian for St. James Parish until July 2005. He was an avid softball player and bowler. Ron was a member of St. James Parish, Catholic United Financial, Knights of Columbus, St. James Men’s Society and the Cold Spring American Legion.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff and caregivers at John Paul Apts., Assumption Home, and Heartland Hospice for the great care and friendship they provided Ron for the past 3 ½ years. Also, special thanks to Ron’s old friends and caregivers Michael Eichers, Ralph and Dorothy Hansen and Mike and Marie Pung.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Gilbert (Esther) Brinker, Dick (Mary) Brinker, Della (Gervase) Jungels, Art (Arlene) Brinker, John (Gloria) Brinker, Joan Olmscheid, Doris (Jack) Torborg, and Dennis Brinker; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Ruth Mueller; sister, Mary Jane Brinker; brothers-in-law, Carl Mueller and Sylvester Olmscheid; nephews, Mark Olmscheid and Jeff Mueller; niece Barbara Sobania.
