William “Bill” Hill, 78
December 15, 1932 – October 19, 2011
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for William H. “Bill” Hill, age 78, who died Wednesday at his home from complications with cancer. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Bill was born in Indianapolis, IN to Henry and Beulah (Cobb) Hill. He married Marcia Kurz on July 29, 1952. Bill served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for Benefit Trust Life Insurance Company, Catholic Knights, and Catholic Aid Association. Bill became Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for the Catholic Aid Association before his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, time at the cabin on the Horseshoe Chain, traveling, St. John’s University football games, and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic United Financial, Big Brothers, former member of Crystal Council Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at the Hennepin County Workhouse.
Survivors include his two children; daughter, Mary Kay (Richard) Stock of Elk River and their children, Tony and Jason (Deanna); son, Mark (Sue) Hill of Albertville and their children, Andrea, Nicholas and Abby; sister, Nita, Betty, Sandra; great-grandchild, Max.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia (January 2011), and his sister, Pat.
