Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for George Guggenberger, age 79, who died in the arms of his children at Cherrywood Advanced Living in Richmond. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Gerard Mission Group, and Catholic United Financial will pray at 4:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home.
George was born in Richmond, MN to George and Elizabeth (Hartig) Guggenberger. He married his soul mate, Dolores Feldhege on June 27, 1956 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN. He served in the U.S. Army after the Korean War. He had a love for nature, sports, playing cards, woodworking, anything mechanical and most of all spending time with his family. George was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Gerard Mission Group, Catholic United Financial and Sts. Peter & Paul Parish.
Survivors include his children, Earl (Tammy), Mike (Sue), Lynn (Dave) Dingmann, Dana (Brian) Shaw, Debra (Todd) Cota, Glen (Melissa), Steve (Jen), Chris (Dana), Craig (Denise); 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Linus, Dave, and Sr. Marlene Guggenberger, O.S.B.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (1998); siblings, Medard, Clara, Leonilla “Mutz”, Ray, Claude, Herbert, and Josephine.
