Marie B. Worms, 91

Marie B. Worms, age 91 of New Munich, died after a two year battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. Monday, November 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Marie Bernadette Von Wahlde was born August 29, 1920 in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Ben and Regina (Gieske) Von Wahlde.  On May 6, 1947 she married Harold “Boysie” Worms at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich.  She has been a resident of New Munich for over 60 years where she spent her time as a homemaker.  Marie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.  She enjoyed bowling, watching the Minnesota Twins, and loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Boysie Worms of Albany; daughter, Alice (Gary) Weber of Glenwood; grandsons, John (Sarah) Weber of Litchfield and Ryan (Sharon) Weber of Villard; great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Avah, Austin, and Landon; brothers and sisters, Elsie Mergen of Albany, Clarence (Dorine) Von Wahlde of New Munich, Irene Frevel of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Joe (Lorraine) Von Wahlde of St. Cloud, Rita Snyder of Denver, Colorado, and Eleanor (Tom) Thelen of Paynesville.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Ed Mergen, Lee Frevel, and William “Bill” Snyder; niece, Linda Von Wahlde; and nephew, Dale Von Wahlde.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bill Frevel, Bob Frevel, Ken Mergen, Carl Thelen, Cary Thelen, and Steve Von Wahlde. Honorary bearers will be Lou Meemken, Ralph Mergen, Mary Otterby, Jane Ryan, Curt Thelen, and John Von Wahlde.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
