Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church for Emil E. Bruder, age 90, of Long Prairie who passed away at his home on Friday. Rev. Richard Walz will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel in Long Prairie and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Emil Edward Bruder was born on February19, 1921 in Reynolds Township to August and Ruth (Stephen) Bruder. On November 17, 1943 he married Helen Shook in Long Prairie. Helen passed away on June 12, 1971. On May 2, 1987 he married Gail Gutches-Hubbard at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie. Emil was a hard working man, farming his entire life, as a career and as a hobby. He loved spending time with his family, taking his children for long drives to admire the crops, and attending many movies. Emil also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and trips to the casino. He will be greatly missed.

Emil is survived by his loving wife, Gail of Long Prairie; children, Michael of Winona, Carolyn (Vernon) Ferrian of Merrifield, Janice (Keith) Engbrecht of Bismark, ND, Charlotte (Richard) Green of Prior Lake, Dana (Wayne) Gregersen of Boise, ID, Greg (Ardyne) of Long Prairie, Teresa (Kevin) Gustafson of Lakeville and Renee (Jim) Holmquist of Rockville; step-children, Merton (Nancy) Hubbard of St. Cloud, Virginia (Milton) Goplen of Dawson, and Sally Knutson of Minneapolis; sisters, Isabelle Becker of Long Prairie, Bernice Miller of Long Prairie and Leona Bluhm of Rock Falls, IL; 27 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Helen; daughter, Sharon; daughter-in-law, Ann Bruder; brothers, Edward and Ambrose; granddaughter, Karin Ferrian and great granddaughter, Leanne Ferrian.
