Merry Santa Cake

1 (18 1/2 oz) pkg. yellow cake mix
Flaked coconut
2 small black gumdrops
Red glossy decorating gel
Red colored sugar
1 black licorice string
1 large red gumdrop
Peppermint Butter Cream

Prepare cake mix according to pkg. directions. Pour batter into two greased and floured Santa-shaped cake pans. Bake according to directions for layer cake pans. Place one Santa layer on serving plate. Freeze other one for later use, or to decorate both at once, double decorating ingredients. Frost top and sides of cake with Peppermint Butter cream, reserving a small amount for hat lines and tassel.  Arrange coconut over beard and mustache area. Use red gel to fill in hat area. Place black gumdrops in position for eyes. Cut black licorice string into short pieces and place for eyebrows. Cut large red gumdrop into pieces for nose and mouth; place on face. Sprinkle red colored sugar on cheeks. Using Butter Cream pipe two – three wavy lines along bottom edge of hat. Use a large puff of frosting for tassel of hat.
