Mocha Bars

1/2 c. shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 egg whites (reserve egg yolks for frosting)
1/2 c. sugar

Cream shortening and sugar. Add milk and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to mixture. Beat egg whites with 1/2 cup sugar until stiff. Fold into mixture. Pour into a large pan and bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Cut into small bars and frost all sides.

 

Frosting

2/3 c. butter or Crisco
4 egg yolks
Vanilla
3 Tbsp. milk
Powdered sugar
Peanuts, grounded up

Mix above ingredients and pour in enough powdered sugar to make a frosting. Roll in grounded up peanuts.
