Peggy R. Kortuem, 64

Peggy R. KortuemA Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie for Peggy R. Kortuem, 64 year old resident of Eagle Bend, MN, who passed away on Wednesday, November 30th at CentraCare Healthsystem in Long Prairie. Father Richard Walz will officiate. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 4th at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel in Long Prairie, and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Parish prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Peggy Rae Fiddle was born on August 2, 1947 in St. Paul, Mn to Raymond and Margaret (Spermbauer) Fiddle. Peggy was united in marriage to Anton Kortuem in 1967 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in St. Paul. They moved up to Eagle Bend in 1975, where they  resided to this day. Peggy worked as a certified Nurses assistant and Medical technician at the Group home in Browerville for 17 years, retiring in 2004 to care for her husband Tony after he fell ill. She lost Tony in 2008. Peggy was the consumate caregiver, whether with family or at work. She also volunteered  at St. Mary’s school with their lunch program as well as many other school activities.

Peggy enjoyed filling her home with “pretty things”, collecting dolls and tiffany style lamps. She looked forward to family gatherings, good food, and a good laugh. Peggy could always keep the conversation going with her wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping,  traveling, and flying in Tony’s plane. She was an avid horsewoman, especially in her younger years. She loved spending time with her grandsons and was devoted to her beloved dog, Marie LeBeau.

Peggy will be dearly missed by her children, Glenn (Maryanne) Kortuem of Long Prairie, and Laura (Mike) Donovan of Eagle Bend; grandchildren, Sage, Isiac, and Erason Kortuem, and Nikko Donovan; mother Margaret Fiddle of Long Prairie; and brother, Mike (Wanda) Fiddle of Webster, WI.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; and husband, Tony.

Urn bearers will be Sage Kortuem and Nikko Donovan.
