Russell “Mick” Austreng, loving husband and father, born August 19, 1935 in Blackduck, MN to Reuben and Margretta, and long time resident of Cold Spring passed away peacefully on December 22, 2011 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in the loving presence of his family.
Mick owned and operated the Cold Spring Record from 1968 to 1986. He loved hunting, fishing, golf and most of all, spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by Patty, his wife of 57 years, his children Mike (Jeanie), Jolayne (Rick) Lindblom, Don (Kathy), Mary Lou (Ajay) von Wyl, Trista Donnay, Duane (Missy) and Bill. He is also survived by his brother Wayne, sister Mary Lou, grandchildren Dan, Ryan, Feren, Jeff, Chris, Josh, Ben, Alex, Jack and Ella and great grandchildren Damien, Josh and Evelyn.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Rodney and his son-in-law Mike Donnay.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27th and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28th at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Funeral services will be held at St. Boniface in Cold Spring on Wednesday, December 28th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
Mick, Dad, Grandpa, Friend, we will miss you terribly and you will stay in our hearts forever.
