Harriet M. Randall 91, of Paynesville died on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at her home in rural Paynesville. A private family service will be held.
Harriet Mae Randall was born on July 27, 1920, in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Rev. Martin and Tillie (Schultz) Bast. Her family moved to Paynesville and she graduated from high school there with the class of 1938.
On December 14, 1945 Harriet was united in marriage to Philip Randall in Atwater, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three sons and a daughter. They made their home in the Union Grove Township in rural Paynesville. Harriet took much pride and joy living on the farm. She lived and worked on the farm from the time she was married until she passed away; it was one of her true loves in life.
Harriet was baptized into the Christian faith as a baby. She was a member of the Holiness Methodist Church. Along with working on the farm Harriet enjoyed singing and playing hymns, working in the family apple orchard, reading, and gardening. She was the best mother and friend her children could have ever hoped for.
Harriet M. Randall passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, peacefully at the age of 91, with her family surrounding her. She is survived by her children, Mark Randall of Paynesville, Scott (Elaine) Randall of Paynesville, Thomas Randall of Paynesville, and Jann Randall of Paynesville; grandson, Ryan (Krista) Randall of Eden Valley; sister-in-law, Jeanette Bast of Paynesville; brothers-in-law, Fred McGlaughlin, of Moline, Il, and Dick Sullivan of Moline, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, Philip; and her siblings, Ruth Sullivan, Joan Quinlin, Joy McGlaughlin, and Dale Bast.
