Upsala City Council approves fee structure for coming year

The Upsala City Council established fees for licenses and permits for the coming year, Tuesday.
“The city of Upsala has never had a structured fee schedule before,” said City Clerk Adrian Welle.
Before, everyone had a different number in mind and never knew what to charge, said Welle.
Starting work without a permit will be added to the schedule at double the actual permit fee, as no penalty had been in place before.
All other fees are standard and will remain the same as last year.
The structure itself was influenced by other cities and the structure they have in place.
“It makes it easier for us and the city,” said Welle.
This new schedule will allow consistency and organization for the city and its residents.
The schedule went into effect Jan. 3.
