Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Agnes Rothstein, age 84, who died Sunday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. The Sts. Peter and Paul Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4 p.m. Parish Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Agnes was born in Spring Hill, MN to Christopher and Anna Mary (Rausch) Blonigen. She married Richard H. Rothstein on September 13, 1949 in St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, MN. Agnes was a lifetime homemaker and partner with her husband on their family farm. She was also well known for her angel food cakes, large strawberry patch, hand crocheted rugs, noodles, pickles and apple pies. Agnes was always busy but never too busy to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Christian Women, Catholic United Financial, St. Isadore Mission Group, and Crosier Apostolate.
Survivors include children, Delroy (Donna) of Sauk Rapids, Michael (Mary) of Bovey, Isidore “Chip” (Teri) of St. Augusta, Mary Jo (Leo) Hemmesch of Lake Henry, Joseph (Lonnie) of Bovey, Rich (Carol) of Albany, Laura (Elmer) Lembeck of St. Cloud, Anthony (Joan) of Richmond, Stephen (Amy) of Ramsey; son-in-law, Charles (Jane) Torborg of Richmond; 29 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Sr. Mary Adella Blonigen O.S.F., Catherine Hommerding, Marcella Gondringer, Christopher Blonigen; sister-in-law, Erma Blonigen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. (2004); daughter, Anna Mae Torborg (1986); sister, Mary Becker; brothers, Leo, Clodoald, Joseph, and Aloysius.
