Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka, MN for Kathryn Portilla-Trettel, age 46, who died Thursday at her home. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery, Cold Spring, MN.
A visitation for Kathy will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Church of St. Stephen, Anoka, MN.
Kathy was born in Evergreen Park, IL to the late James and Dolores (Scherer) Trettel. She married Miguel Portilla on July 31, 2010 in the Church of St. Stephen in Anoka, MN. She graduated from College of St. Benedict in 1988. Kathy was an art teacher, most recently as a substitute teacher for Anoka – Hennepin school district. She was a member of Anoka American Legion Auxiliary Post 102.
Survivors include her husband, Miguel; sisters, Mary Beth, Carol (Joe Koziolczyk), Jean (Pat) Kilcoyne; nephews and nieces, Patrick (Gina) III, Christopher, Jillian, and Megan Kilcoyne; godson, Stephen Knecht, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
