Frosted Maple Drops

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. maple syrup
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. evaporated milk
6 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. maple flavoring
3-4 c. powdered sugar

In large bowl beat one cup butter with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Beat until combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Add maple syrup, egg and vanilla; beat until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer, stir in any remaining flour. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons two-inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Bake eight-10 minutes or until tops are set. Cool on wire rack. In a medium bowl whisk together evaporated milk, melted butter and maple flavoring until combined. Gradually stir in powdered sugar until mixture is of icing consistency. Spread tops of cooled cookies with icing. Makes about 96 cookies.
