Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie, MN for Veronica Minnerath, age 85, who died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m., followed by a rosary with the St. Boniface Christian Women. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Veronica was born in Frazee, MN to Clemens and Helen (Bovy) Markfort. She married Daniel Minnerath on October 15, 1951 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph, MN. Veronica was a homemaker who loved crocheting, knitting, gardening and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Parish.
Survivors include her children, Dave (Ruth), Karen and Janis all of Cold Spring; grandchildren, Glen (Aimee) Minnerath and Angie (Rob) Spitzley; great-grandchildren, Grady, Sawyer and Lainey Minnerath, Nora and Sydney Spitzley, step-brothers, Elmer (Rosie) Hechtel and Norbert (Louella) Hechtel; sisters-in-law, Isabel Markfort, Frances Minnerath, Betty Zwack, Rose Mary Minnerath, Renee Ressemann; brother-in-law, Alfred Minnerath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents; step-father, Nick Hechtel; siblings, Sr. Theresa Markfort, O.S.F., Leo, Tony (Evelyn) and Al Markfort.
