A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie for Richard A. Hengemuhle, 59 year old resident of Long Prairie, MN, who passed away on Saturday, June 9th at CentraCare Healthsystem in Long Prairie. Father Rich Walz will officiate and burial will be in St Mary’s cemetery in Long Prairie. Friends and relatives may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel in Long Prairie.
Richard Alan Hengemuhle was born on March 1, 1953 in Long Prairie, MN to the late Arthur and Geraldine (Claseman) Hengemuhle. He grew up and helped around the family farm. Richard graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1971. He continued to help his parents on the farm, enjoying his work with the livestock, as well as keeping many dogs and cats for pets. Richard also worked on the Petron Potato Farm, and most recently was employed at United Mailing in Little Falls. Richard always kept a large vegetable garden. He enjoyed being outdoors on his four wheeler, and riding his motorcycle. Richard was a kind and thoughtful man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all.
Richard was a lifetime member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus and his community.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Bob (Bev) Hengemuhle of Racine, WI, and Ron (Brenda) Hengemuhle of Long Prairie; aunts, Edna Hengemuhle and Sylvia Hengemuhle, both of Long Prairie; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Betty Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Gerry Hengemuhle.
Casketbearers will be Gene Gerlach, Dennis Gerlach, Doug Pesta, Michael Hengemuhle, Jeffrey Hengemuhle, Matt Andreasen, Matt Hengemuhle, and Danny Hengemuhle.
