Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for James “Jim” Spoden, age 75, who died Monday at Assumption Home. Inurnment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery at a later date.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral home.
Jim was born in Cold Spring to Steve and Marie (Fink) Spoden. He married Marilyn (Larson) on September 27, 1958 in Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN. Jim owned and operated Spoden Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the MN Twins. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Marilyn; children, Jeff, Curt (Marcia), Keith (Gail), Jill (Jay) Zierden, and Chris (Melinda), brothers and sisters, MaryJane (Don), Roger (Mary), Rita (Jack), Ruth (Jerry), Tim (Penny), Gary, David (Gary), and Chuck (Mary), and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
