Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Henry for Jerome A. Olmscheid, age 86 of Lake Henry who passed away on Monday, August, 27, 2012 at the Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Reverend Glenn Krystosek and Reverend Mr. Vernon Schmitz will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Henry. The St. Joseph Society, Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and Catholic United Financial will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.
Jerome was born on April 8, 1926 in New Munich, Minnesota to Edward and Susan (Mayers) Olmscheid. He married Lorraine A. Heinen on September 23, 1947 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Henry. The couple farmed in Lake Henry until 1982. After retirement they moved to the town of Lake Henry where Jerome was the custodian and Boiler Operator at the church. He also continued farming with his son on the home farm. He was a member of St. Margaret’s Parish, St. Joseph Society, Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial and the Lake Henry Lions Club. He served on the Lake Henry Township Board and country school board.
Jerome was a very faithful man; he enjoyed farming, fishing, woodworking, playing cards and Lake Henry baseball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his lovely wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; children, Ron (Bernice) of Lake Henry, Diane (Robert) Pelzer of Lake Henry, Dan (Lynn) of Paynesville, Gary (Pat) of Lake Henry, Dennis of Sartell, Randy (Ruth) of St. Martin, Sandy (Roy) Lensing of Belgrade, Mary (Glenn) Miller of Nisswa and Julie (Joe) Prince of Buffalo; 27 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; brothers and sisters, Leo of New Munich, LeRoy (Phyllis) of St. Cloud, Doreen Revermann of Freeport and Dorothy Rademacher of New Munich; brother-in-law, Al Hiltner of Melrose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert, sisters, Marion VanDrehle, Betty Lou Spaeth, Donna Mae Hiltner; and great granddaughter, Kendra Olmscheid.
