A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie for Marie A. Flanagan, 88 year old resident of Long Prairie, MN, who passed away on Friday, September 14th at CentraCare Healthsystem in Long Prairie. Father Rich Walz will officiate and burial will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Long Prairie. Friends may call from from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel in Long Prairie.

Marie Anna Flanagan was born on November 24, 1923 in Long Prairie, MN to the late Mortimer and Bertha (Fraune) Flanagan. She attended the local country school and graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1942. Except for a brief time working at the Twin City Arsenal Ammunition Plant, Marie lived most of her life with her parents and brother, Edward Flanagan and his wife Hazel (Berndt) on the family farm outside of Long Prairie. After her mother’s death, Marie moved into town, and in 2005, she became a resident of the nursing home.

Marie enjoyed sewing and working in her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mortimer and Bertha Flanagan; and brother, Ed (Hazel) Flanagan.

Memorials are preferred to CentraCare Healthsystem and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Long Prairie.
