“Out of the Blue” book signing set for Saturday, Sept. 8 at Main Street Gallery

On June 13, 1968, Linda L. Tordsen, who owned “Gold ‘n More” in Sauk Centre, and her younger sister, Pamela Haugen, survived an F5 tornado in Tracy, MN. The tornado was the first F5 tornado ever recorded in Minnesota, killing 9 people and injuring over 100.

Forty-four years later, Tordsen and her sister’s experiences are published in the book “Out of the Blue” written by Scott Thoma. Thoma was 9 years old and living in Tracy at the time the tornado hit the small southwestern Minnesota farming community.

“Out of the Blue” will be available for purchase at Main Street Gallery in Sauk Centre on Saturday, Sept. 8. Thoma will be signing copies of his book from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
