Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas, MN for Andrew Stang, age 85, who died Saturday at his home in Richmond. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Parish Cemetery.
A visitation for Andy will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday (TODAY) at Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. There will be a rosary at 4:00 with Men’s Society, Catholic United Financial, Knights of Columbus, and Senior Citizens. Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church.
Andy was born in St. Martin to Mathias and Amalia (Lieser) Stang. He married Edith Winkelman on June 25, 1952 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. Andy enjoyed farming, dancing, and playing cards. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Edith; children, Karen (Dennis) Rausch, Marlene (Dave) Molitor, Lori (Jamie) Hiemer, Stacie, Sr. Perpetua, O.P., Steve (Sandra), Michael, Fr. Mark, and Jeffrey (Jamie); son-in-law, Ken; sisters, MaryAnn Albers, Sr. Bernie, O.S.B., and Kathy Olmscheid, brothers, Br. Dan, O.S.C., Emanual, Conrad, Harold, James, and Donald; 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jean Malone; brother, Matthew; sisters, Joanne Torborg, and Marilyn Stalboerger; grandchild, Paul.
Memorials will go towards religious vocations.
