Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for James “Jim” Dockendorf, age 76, who died Tuesday at the John Paul Apartments in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Monday morning at the funeral home.
Jim was born in Cold Spring, MN to Paul, Sr. and Ann (Faber) Dockendorf. He married Jean Wilcox on April 4, 1959 in Paynesville, MN. Jim enjoyed meeting with people at the John Paul Apartments, he was the “Official” greeter to many. He worked for Cold Spring Granite Company for 35 years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, socializing, dancing, and telling jokes. He was a member of St. Boniface parish and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include his children, Deb (Tim Eisenschenk), Sandy (Bart) Sanquist, Steve (Chris), Timothy (Jean), Jenny, David (Angel); brothers, Paul, Jr. (Jane), Vernon (Arlene); sister, Margaret Froehling; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (2008); brother, Roman; 1 great-grandchild.
