Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Alfred Wolbeck, age 77, who died Saturday at Assumption Home. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Al was born in Spring Hill, MN to Bernard and Mary (Hiltner) Wolbeck. He married Erma Mugg on June 6, 1961 in St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN. Al worked at Starry Construction, Franklin, and DeZurik until his retirement in 2004. Al enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, gardening with his daughter, and working at his son’s hobby farm. He also had fun entertaining his wife’s daycare children after his retirement. Al was well known for his beautiful eyes and smiles. His greatest accomplishment and enjoyment though were his grandchildren. Each of them have a relationship with him that will never be broken or ever forgotten. He taught them the true meaning of being a “grandpa”. His life truly revolved around them.
Survivors include loving wife of 51 years, Erma; children, Keith Wolbeck (Carla), and Kristine (Richard) Ruegemer; brother, Martin Wolbeck; sisters-in-law, Sandy Wolbeck, Bernice Wolbeck; brother-in-law, Joseph Schneider, and grandchildren, Amanda (Jay) Eggert, Kim (Dave) Wiechman, Rachelle Ruegemer, and Derek Ruegemer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Albert, Leo, Edwin, Leonard, Hubert, Bernard, Veronica, Theresa, Frances, Christine, Gertrude, Marie, Rose, and Appolonia.
