Joseph John Jambor, 96

Joseph John Jambor, 96 of Browerville passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the CentraCare Health System Nursing Home in Long Prairie.  A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville; burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville on the day of the service.

Joe was born August 22, 1916 in St. Paul to Theodore & Mary (Kensy) Jambor.  In 1923, his family moved to Browerville and he was raised on a farm.   Joe attended School District #86 in Moran Township for the 1st grade, St. Joseph’s School for grades 2 through 4 and District #33 for grades 5 through 7.  After completing his education, he worked on  a farm in Portland, N.D. for a short time.

Joe married Lorene Gaffke on November 7, 1939 in Motley.  After their marriage they worked together in Portland, N.D. on the same farm for a year.  They returned to Browerville and farmed in Moran Township for 7 years and then in Ward Township until retirement in 1977.  After retiring, they made their home just north of Horseshoe Lake; they truly enjoyed the country life.  Joe also worked for other farms during his retirement.   Joe enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, visiting and storytelling; he also like to feed the birds and squirrels.  He is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville.

Joe is survived by one daughter, Norma Roscoe of Oakdale, two sons, Jerry (Rose Zetah) of Cushing,  Kenny (Randi) of Tobyhanna, PA; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Tony of Bethel,  Frank of Milwaukee, WI, sister-in-law Dorothy Jambor of Oakdale, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lorene, November 11, 2006;  1 grandson, Robert Gladke 1 granddaughter, Veronica Roscoe, son-in-law Edward Roscoe, brothers, Val (Florence), Albert (MaryAnn) & Stanley; sisters, Florence (Melvin) Buchta, Mary (Elmer) Davis & Elizabeth (David) Lukes, sister-in-law, Dolores Jambor and many other relatives & friends.
