Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Helen Schleper, age 91, who died Sunday at Arlington Place. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
Helen was born in Lake Henry Township to Mathias and Elizabeth (Meyer) Hemmesch. She married Albert Schleper on May 23, 1944 in St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Henry. Helen was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, quilting and watching her sons play ball and the MN Twins. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Christian Women. Helen and Albert were inducted into the Farming Flames Hall of Fame in 2004.
Survivors include her children, Virgil of St. Martin, Betty (Richard) Hansen of St. Cloud, Judy Vogt of Melrose, Herman (Terri) of Avon, Gene of Richmond, Marie (Robert) Zimmer of St. Cloud, Mark (Gretchen) of Upsala, Thomas (Ruth) of St. Joseph, Roy (Jeanie) of St. Joseph; sister, Frances Kollman; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter-in-law, Patricia Schleper; brothers, Peter, Henry, Nicholas, Paul, and Joseph; sisters, Matilda Miller and Theresa Miller.
