Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at Hope Covenant Church, 336 4th Ave. So. in St. Cloud, MN for Jeanette DeRose, age 58, who died Thursday at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Burial will be in the North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4th at the Wenner Funeral Home, 151 Oakwood Ave. S.E. in Richmond. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Monday morning at the church.
Jeanette was born in St. Cloud to Arthur and R. Evelyn (Bell) Kurtz. She graduated from Eden Valley-Watkins High School in 1972 and Mounds-Midway School of Nursing in 1975. She married Jim DeRose on May 22, 1976 in St. Cloud. Jeanette and her husband owned Riverside Resort in Richmond, Riverside Inn in Cold Spring and Riverside Aloha in Hawaii. Her motto was “give roses to the living.” Jeanette was a fun-loving woman of God who modeled unwavering faith, kindness, generosity, and hospitality to all who knew her. Jeanette enjoyed traveling, and she cherished every moment with her family.
Survivors include the love of her life of 36 years, her husband, Jim; daughters, Jennifer (Larry) Aue, Jessica (Brian) Monsen; son, Joseph (Christina); brother, Glenn (Shannon) Kurtz; sisters, Elaine (Ron) Holmer, Florence (Tom) Threet; grandchildren, Caleb, David and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
