Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie for Kathy A. Roman, age 70, of Long Prairie, who passed away on Saturday at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Rev. Richard Walz will officiate and burial will be at St. Mary’s cemetery in Long Prairie. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to services Wednesday morning at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Stein Chapel in Long Prairie.. The rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kathy Ann Mack was born on May 29, 1942 in Little Fork, MN to the late Robert and Beatrice (Runyon) Mack. In the mid 1950′s, Kathy and her family moved to Long Prairie, where she graduated from high school. Kathy was united in marriage to Bernard “Bud” Roman on Sept. 12, 1960 in Bemidji, MN, and they settled in Long Prairie. Kathy worked as a teacher’s aide at the Long Prairie Elementary School, and in 1983, she and Bud started up Bud’s Furniture and Floor Covering, which is still operating today. Kathy was a long time member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and the Prairie Players Theatre Group, for which she would sew and do alterations on their costumes. In quiet moments, Kathy enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Kathy was a wonderful cook, and always put out a big “spread” for family gatherings, and when entertaining friends.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Bud; sons, Steve (Jeri) Roman of Hayward, WI, and Marcus (Jeanne) Roman of Moorhead, MN; daughter, Barbie (Dennis) Priem of Long Prairie; sister, Barb Jackson of Long Prairie; eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jim Mack.

Casketbearers will be Jordan Priem, Alex Roman, Shaun Risse, Matt Powell, Paul Roman, and Tom Zwack.
