Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Hildegard R. Mehr, age 90, who died at home surrounded by her loving family. Burial will be in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Farming.
A visitation for Hildegard will be from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Christian Women and Catholic United Financial. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home.
Hildegard was born in Farming, Minnesota to Herman and Mary (Dingmann) Schleper. She married Jacob Mehr on November 8, 1948 in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming, Minnesota. Hildegard was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; who enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, making bread and playing cards. She was a member of St. Martin Parish and formerly a member of St. Catherine’s in Farming, St. Catherine’s Christian Women, and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include her children, Mary Ann (Rog) Lutgen of Minneapolis, Susie (Reinhard) Ebnet of Hopkins, Margie (Gary) Ehresmann of New Ulm, Vernon (Joann) Mehr of Farming, Dorothy (Rich) Schlangen of Marty, Barb (Greg) Resendez of Richfield; Sisters-in-law, Rosie Schleper, Leona Schleper, Rose Marie Schleper, Esther and Marlyn Libbesmeier; 20 grandchildren; 3-step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; sister, Leona Schaefer; brothers, Raymond, Albert, Urban, Paul, Edmund, Elmer and Joseph Schleper; great-grandchildren, Makenna Marquardt, Francis and Eleanor Fitzpatrick.
