Mary L Schrantz, of Sauk Centre, MN, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, December 18th 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday December 21st, 2012.
Mary was born on January 20, 1951 in Belgrade, MN to Daniel and Anna Finken. She was a 1969 graduate of Belgrade High School. On June 16th 1972 she was united in marriage to her devoted partner, Wayne Schrantz. They resided in Sauk Centre, where they operated a dairy farm for 30 years and raised their four children; Lisa, Amy, Jeremy and Tom. Mary was a 1994 graduate of Saint Cloud State University. She was employed at the Correctional Facility in Sauk Centre, at Saint Cloud State University, and most recently Alexandria Technical College.
She and her husband Wayne together built and remodeled a beautiful lake home on Grove Lake, where they enjoyed hosting many barbeques and participated in lake activities with their children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of forty years, Wayne (Sauk Centre), her daughters, Lisa (Juan) Orozco of Crystal, MN, and Amy (Ben) Felling; two sons, Jeremy (Trisha) Schrantz, and Thomas Schrantz, all of Sauk Centre, MN; brother Daniel Finken of Apache Junction, AZ; sister-in-law Rose Ann Finken of Albany, MN; grandchildren Cole, Jada, Teagan, Natalia, Aiden, Benson and unborn grandchild due March 2013; nieces and nephews Deb (Glen) Klaphake of Melrose, MN, Diane (Bob) Spicer of St. Cloud, MN, Donna Klaphake of Albany, MN, Dennis (Sara) Finken of Albany, MN, Darlene Finken of Albany, MN, Micheal Finken of Little Falls, MN, and Shelly (Larry) Rahn of Avon, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Finken, and nephew David Finken.
