A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. December 14 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany. Interment will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Albany.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church in Albany.
Dale Edward Schultz was born December 31, 1935 in Long Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Edward and Ella (Dehn) Schultz. He graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1955 then worked for a farmer in North Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. During that time, he was stationed in Leghorn, Italy which he much enjoyed. After the Army, he returned to Long Prairie and worked for Long Prairie Sanitation, Central Bi-Products in Long Prairie and later, at Kraft Food in Albany on September 18, 1972. He was united in marriage to LouAnn Starry on August 3, 1963 at the Long Prairie Catholic Church in Long Prairie. Dale moved to Albany in 1974 and retired in 2003.
He enjoyed reading, singing, gardening and spending time with family. Dale was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany.
Survivors include his wife, LouAnn Schultz of Albany; children, Jeff Schultz of Phoenix, AZ, Kelly (Dale) Rafteseth of Albany, Kim (Brian) Marquart of Brainerd, and Kristi (John) Mueller of Melrose; 7 grandchildren; brother, Leroy (Rosie) Schultz of Long Prairie; and sister, Donna Schneekloth of Long Prairie.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Roselyn Blais, Ellen Peterson, and infant sister, Rosemond Schultz; brother, Daniel Schultz; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as casket bearers will be Adam Rafteseth, Aaron Mueller, Nicole Marquart, Joshua Marquart, Matthew Rafteseth, Reagan Mueller, Daniel Mueller, Glen West and Frank Schrader.
