Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Diane M. Schmid, age 64, who died Sunday surrounded by her family. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and will continue from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Thursday morning at the funeral home. Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Diane was born in Cashton, WI to Argyle and Arlene (Bertling) Blihovde. She married Steve Schmid on May 19, 1979 in St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Diane worked in various sales positions, and was a licensed beautician. She enjoyed time with family, sailing, bird watching, reading, cooking, knitting, gardening, and music. Diane was a member of St. Boniface Parish, The Red Hats, and the Lions.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Steve; children, Wayde (Shari) Peterson, Shelley (Victor) Gonzalez, Brian (Lynne) Schmid, Brittany (Chartagan) Bowser; mother, Arlene; siblings, Theresa (Stan) Gossard, Rene (Elvin) Bishop, David (Diane) Blihovde, Phyllis (Mike) John, and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Argyle, and her grandparents.
Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.
