Cecelia “Cele” Silvers, 86
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Cele Silvers, age 86, who died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Sts. Peter & Paul Christian Women and Catholic United Financial. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home.
Cele was born in Richmond, MN to Jacob and Catherine (Braegelmann) Schlangen. She married Raymond Silvers on August 30, 1949 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Richmond. Cele enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards, dancing, and reading. She also liked to cook and bake and was famous for her home made bread. Cele loved spending time with family. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Christian Women and Catholic United Financial. She was active in MCCL and Koinonia, and spent numerous hours doing volunteer work for the missions, the community, and the parish.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Jerry Daniels), Jerry (Sylvia Hammer), Judy (Jonathan Claypool), Mary (Michael MacCheyne), Jim, Marge, Larry (Candy Minor), Shirl (John Lamoureux), Joe (Michelle Schwartz), Bea (Jeff Wicker), Dotty (Michael Mockenhaupt), Rick (Susan O’Brien); 28 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray (2010); parents, and siblings, Sr. Florentine, O.S.B., Paul, Ludwina, Sr. Wilma, O.S.B., Ray, Sr. Lucille, O.S.B., Cyrilla, Ben, and Theresa.
