Upsala City Council Briefs
Other business that came before the Upsala City Council Monday included:
• Approving two Bingo permits for St. Mary’s Church, one for quilts Feb. 17 and one for the youth March 17;
• Approving the one-year appointment of new Fire Department officers as recommended by the department. They are: Jay Baggenstoss, chief; Frank Koopmeiners, assistant chief; Brian Lange, secretary; captains Mikel Nelson, Jeff Czech and Nick Johnson and training officers Steve Hansen and Joe Trettel;
• Hearing an update on the new laptop and software by City Clerk-Treasurer Adrian Welle. “We actually stepped ahead of a lot of small cities in the area by doing this,” said Welle; and
• Learning that the local Board of Appeals meeting will be April 19 at 1 p.m., with representatives from the County Assessor’s Office in attendance.
The next regularly scheduled Upsala City Council meeting will be Monday, March 4, at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
