RoquetteDonaldWEBDonald J. Roquette, age 92 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at CentraCare Health Systems Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Donald died while doing what he loved, bowling.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 at United Methodist Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor Marianne Ozanne officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Donald Jacob Roquette was born July 22, 1920 in Dickinson, ND to Jake and Louise (Belford) Roquette. On October 23, 1945 he married ElDoris Smith in Grove Lake, MN. Donald farmed his entire life. He began farming in Westport, MN until 1952 and then purchased a farm in Raymond Township and farmed there until his retirement in 1992. He moved to Fairy Lake Road in Sauk Centre and resided there until he moved to Lakeshore Estates in February of 2012.

Donald was an avid bowler and he also enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes. He once won the State Horseshoe Championship. Most of all, he enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Gary (Janet) Roquette of St. Joseph; brother, Jack (Harlean) Roquette of Marysville, WA; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Dennis Krick of Sauk Centre.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, ElDoris Roquette on November 21, 2007; daughter, ElDonna Krick; infant granddaughter, Tanya Krick; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Roquette, Vera Redman, Eunice Graham, Clifford Roquette, Dallas Roquette and Shirley Ritter.

Serving as casket bearers will be Sean Roquette, Mathew Roquette, Greg Heinen, Bret Anderson, Shawn Fletcher and Adam Wiener. Honorary Bearers will be Steven Krick, Ray Trisko and Esther Reuter.
