Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Evelyn (Sakry) Thyen, age 98, who died Tuesday. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. in the church gathering space. The Christian Women and Catholic United Financial will pray a rosary at 10:00 a.m.
Survived by her children, Shirley (Ron) Voss, Beverly (Dick) Hennen, Donald (Doris), Rosemary (Gary) Shaffer, Judy Roble, and Tim (Shirley); 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Art Sakry, Jack (Marian) Sakry; sisters-in-law, Marge and Zita Sakry; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; sons, Cloud and Earl; grandson, Brant, and 4 siblings.
Evie loved her faith and family. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, flowers, gardening, and dancing. We will forever miss our beloved Mom, Grandma, and Great-grandma.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.
Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond, MN.
