EcklundMargaretWEBMargaret F. Ecklund, age 73, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and loved ones on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Margaret Ferne Lindback was born January 26, 1940 in McVille, North Dakota to Harry and Martha (Engel) Lindback. Margaret was a graduate of Osakis High School, Class of 1957. On February 4, 1961 she married Duane Ecklund. They made their home in Little Sauk and later in Sauk Centre. She worked at various jobs, most recently at Coborn’s in Sauk Centre. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and doing puzzles.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Joe (Cindy) Ecklund of Osakis, Jean (Paul) Madsen of Saginaw and Kelly (Kathy) Ecklund of Minnetrista; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; father-in-law, Carl Ecklund of Sauk Centre; brother, Vernon Lindback (fiancé, Janet Carpenter) of Farmington; sisters, Lois (Don) Weiner of Sauk Centre, Sharon (Harold) Walter of Osakis and Muriel Lindback of Alexandria; brothers-in-law, Eugene Ecklund of Moorhead and Raymond Ecklund of Clarissa; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Rudy) Beste of Sauk Centre and Vera (Dick) Zagar of Hugo; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Duane; parents, Harry and Martha (Engel) Lindback; three brothers, Luverne, Harvey and Mark Lindback; mother-in-law, Mary Ecklund; sisters-in-law, Carol and Marcia Lindback and Essie and Dorothy Ecklund; and nephew, Scott Ecklund.
