Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1125 11th Ave. N, St. Cloud, MN for Michael O. Burns, age 75, who died peacefully Sunday.
There will be a gathering of relatives and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday at the church.
Michael was born in St. Cloud to Harry and Mathilda (Ohmann) Burns, the youngest of their seven children. He graduated from St. John’s University and received his law degree from University of Minnesota. Michael settled in St. Cloud to practice law and raise his family with his wife Nancy. In retirement, Mike focused on teaching children how to play cribbage to improve math skills and was a nationally ranked Cribbage Life Master.
Survivors include his children, Jim (Deb), Dan (Margaret), and Tracy (Sandy) McCartney; grandchildren, Lindsay, Susan, Erin, Austin, Hannah, and Sydney; sisters, Margaret (Ed) Lytle, Nancy (Charley) Wenner, Colleen (Roy) Bernick, and Kathleen Tompkins (Larry Kotzer).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mathilda; brothers, Terry and John; sister-in-law, Mary-Lou, and brothers-in-law, Rich Rawlings, and Alan Tompkins.
