Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Mathew “Math” Kaiser, age 82, who died Monday at Hennepin County Medical Center. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A visitation for Math will be from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday at the St Martin Parish Hall in St. Martin. The St. Joseph’s Society and the Paynesville Knights of Columbus will pray a rosary at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the St. Martin Parish Hall.
Math was born in Cold Spring to William and Magdalena (Seifermann) Kaiser. He married Ermalinda Stang on September 2, 1953 in St. Martin. Math took great pride in his farm and family. After retiring he helped his son, Allen, with his landscaping business. Math loved Polka music, his tractors, woodworking, and especially spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Society and Paynesville Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his children, Mary Kay Pelkey, Gary (Nita), Allen (Dawn), Jim, and Lori Ann (Ron) Olson; son-in-law, Tim Dingmann; brothers and sisters, Sylvester and Bernard Kaiser, Judy (Don) DeWenter, Carol, Al, Edwin, Othmar, and Jerome Kraemer, and Bernadette Schreifels; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ermalinda; sons, Michael and Ron; daughter, Karen; son-in-law, David Pelkey; brothers and sisters, Gebhard, Romuald, Sally, Alcuin, Marie, Cyril, Mary, and Fritz.
Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond, MN.
