Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for MaryAnn Gerding, age 78, who died Sunday at Assumption Home.  Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery, Richmond.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:00 p.m.  Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning at the St. Boniface Narthex.

MaryAnn was born in Spring Hill to John and Frances (Lieser) Meyer.  She married Raymond Gerding on May 3, 1955 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Spring Hill, MN.  MaryAnn enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and entertaining.  She especially loved to cook and bake for all who came to visit.  She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her loving husband, Raymond; children, Deb Vogt (Max Monnens), Sherry (Jim) Hartman, Scott (Robyn), Pam Skogland; son-in-law Tucker (Patti) Plantenberg; brother, Leander; sisters-in-law, Isabel and Kathleen Meyer, Lillian Schoenberg, Tillie and Rita Gerding; brother-in-law, Reuben (Valeria) Gerding; 5 grandchildren, Joell and Jenny Vogt, Jenna (fiancé Noah) and Leah Hartman, Beau Gerding; 2 great-grandchildren, Taylor and Mykayla Evens.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Plantenberg and baby; parents; sister, Monica (Dillo) Leukam; brothers, Sylvester and Gerald Meyer; sister-in-law, Alvera Meyer; brothers-in-law, Hank Schoenberg, Elmer (Armela) Gerding, Wilfred and Robert Gerding.

A special thank you to the Assumption Nursing Home and staff for the wonderful care provided to MaryAnn, as well as to Heartland Hospice.  Additionally, we would like to thank Fr. Julius Boeckerman, O.S.B., Fr. Bob Rolfes, Fr. Cletus Connors, O.S.B., and Fr. Tim Baltes for their unending spiritual care and support.
