Duane A. Mueller, age 55

MuellerDuaneWEBDuane A. Mueller, age 55 of St. Cloud, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends at his home in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.

Duane Anthony Mueller was born June 6, 1957 in Melrose, Minnesota to Lawrence and Mildred (Ramler) Mueller.  He graduated from Melrose High School and attended Pipestone Vocational School.  Duane worked at WACOSA in St. Cloud and was very involved with St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Duane’s faith was very important to him and he immensely enjoyed the Sunday church group and their spiritual care and friendship.

Duane supported the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and “rolled” his wheelchair during MS walks.  He enjoyed latch hook, fishing at the lake, and was an avid sports fan who loved betting against the Minnesota teams.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Mueller of Melrose; brothers and sisters, Jerry Mueller of Eagan, Marv (Wanda) Mueller of Healdsburg, California, Bonnie (Rick) Funk of Sauk Rapids, Bob (Theresa) Mueller of Melrose, Karen (John) Ellering of Falcon Heights, Lois Mueller of St. Cloud, and Jan (Kurt) Wolter of Ham Lake; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Mueller on September 28, 2011.

A special thank you to everyone that provided care to Duane at Social Services, WACOSA, St. Cloud Hospice, and care facilities, especially J and J Holmes and staff.

Serving as casket bearers will be Ryan Funk, Nick Ellering, Jake Ellering, Richie Kucinski, Justin Lansdowne, and Randy Hunt.  Honorary bearers will be the staff and friends at J and J Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
