Delores Larson, 89, of Long Prairie, passed away at her residence on April 21, 2013. Funeral services for Delores were held on Friday, April 26, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie. Burial was held at Larson’s Whispering Pines Cemetery.
Delores was born January 8, 1924 in Winthrop to Fred & Irma (Redmann) Huebner. On October 28, 1942 she married Harry Larson in Thomastown Township. After marriage, they briefly farmed in the Browerville area until moving to Aurora, MN. In 1958, they moved back to the family farm, where she worked on the farm, was a homemaker, and raised her ten children. While on the farm, she enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, gardening, and especially baking cookies for the grandchildren. God and her family were the most important things in her life.
After Harry’s death in 1999, she moved to Long Prairie, where she has lived for the last 14 years with her daughter Tammy. Delores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
In later years she often enjoyed trips to the casino with her family and the annual bonding trip with her daughters and Garry. She also enjoyed drawing while sitting in the sun, and taking care of her two precious puppies.
Delores is survived by her 10 children: Dedra (Arlie) Weitnauer of Little Falls, Garry Larson of Savage, DeeAnn (John Botts) Gibbons of Lonsdale, Steven (Susie) Larson of Cushing, Mark (Trudy) Larson of Flensburg, Kathleen (Richard) Hanych of Cushing, Melodie (Dale Cline) Sudbeck of St. Cloud, Michael (Kathy) Larson of Browerville, Jody (Mary) Larson of Cushing and Tammy (Alex Gutierrez) Larson of Long Prairie; siblings: Beverly (George) Swenson of Staples, Larry (Dorothy) Huebner of Staples and Fred (Karen) Huebner Staples; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, grandson Michael Sudbeck, and sisters: Arline, Marge and June; brothers: Warren & George.
