Frank Pesta Jr. , 85, of Eagle Bend, passed away at his residence on May 7, 2013. Funeral services for Frank were held on Monday, May 13, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Church in Clarissa with Pastor Melissa Ehrhardt officiating. Burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery, Clarissa.
Frank was born March 13, 1928 in Iona Township, Todd County, Minnesota on the family farm, to Frank and Ragnhild (Granlund) Pesta. Now a century farm owned by Glenn (Neva) Pesta. He enlisted in the US Army in October 1946 where he received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan and was honorably discharged in February 1948. Frank spent most of his life farming. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, especially to the Black Hills, going to the casino, visiting and raising horses. Spending time with his family was his favorite past time.
Frank is survived by his wife Betty of Eagle Bend, children: Sherry (Dan) Oftedahl of Eagle Bend and Barbara (Bob) Gamache of Clarissa; 3 grandchildren: Malissa Lewis, Brent (Amy) Oftedahl and Cheryl (Dave) Holmquist; 7 great grandchildren: Tyler Oftedahl, Brandon Oftedahl, Lane Oftedahl, Coty Mansager, Kaelyn Holmquist, Camryn Holmquist, Jazmine Lewis; siblings: Gloria (Duane) Drevlow of Truman, Ivan (Shirley) Pesta of Clarissa, Kenny (Jeanette) Pesta of Clarissa and Glenn (Neva) Pesta of Long Prairie.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Brandis Oftedahl, brothers: Clarence, Hanley, Raymond, Richard and sister Ruth McKindley.
