Helen Case, 100

CaseHelenWEBHelen Case, 100, of Clarissa, passed away on June 8, 2013, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, June, 11, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa.  Burial was held at Woodman Cemetery, Clarissa.  Casket bearers were Bill Christiansen, Jim Line, Jerry Hinzmann, Curt Hanson, Dean Larson, and Dave Larson.  Honorary casket bearers were Roger Cuchna, Ron Peterson, Richard Peterson, Russell Peterson and all of Helen’s nieces and nephews.

Helen was born November 3, 1912, in Chokio, to Lewis & Mary (Kasemaker) Fuchs.  She was baptized at St. Mary’s Church in Chokio and confirmed at St. Peter’s Church in Browerville.

Helen was married to Harold Case on August 11, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  They lived in Moline, Illinois, Eagle Bend and Long Prairie.  Helen moved to the Central Todd County Care Center in 2004.  She worked as a retail clerk in Moline, Clarissa, Browerville, Alexandria and Long Prairie.

Helen was good natured and a willing person, ready always to extend a helping hand to others.  She was like a second mother to many people.  She always enjoyed visiting with people.  She loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Harold, infant son Charles, parents, and two sisters, Pauline Carrick and Agnes Peterson.

Helen is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
