Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Rockville, MN for Evelyn S. Maselter, age 100, who died Friday at the Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Rockville.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Christian Women. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born in Waite Park, MN to Andrew and Cecelia (Roden) Braun. She was married to Frank Hoffman until his death in 1952. She later married Ed Maselter; Ed died in 2004. Evelyn dairy farmed and did housekeeping for various clients. She also worked at the Log Lodge in Waite Park and Rockville Locker Plant. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, knitting, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Christian Women, St. Theresa Mission Group, and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Connie) Hoffmann; sisters, RoseMary Weitzel, Francis Malikawski; brother, Clarence Braun; grandchildren, Jennifer Burger, Frank Hoffmann, and Bill Hoffmann; great-grandchildren, Payton Burger, Austin Burger, Michael Hoffmann, Trevor Hoffmann, and step-great-granddaughter, Jackie Patnoe.
She was preceded in death by her twin son and daughter; husbands, Frank Hoffmann, Edwin Maselter, and brother, Norbert Braun.
