Out of the Blue author Scott Thoma to speak August 14 at Stearns History Museum

On June 13, 1968, at 7:04 p.m., the first recorded F-5 tornado in Minnesota history swept through the small southwestern town of Tracy.  The massive tornado destroyed several city blocks, killed nine people and injured more than 100 others.  Scott Thoma, who was a little boy at the time, writes the story about a family who suffered through the storm.  In Scott’s book, Out of the Blue, he describes the harrowing events Linda Vaske and her family endured.  Linda was in the process of finalizing the adoption paperwork on two-year-old Nancy when this storm tragically changed their lives.

Come to the Stearns History Museum for Breakfast Club on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 9:00 a.m., to learn more about the heartbreaking events of this storm. This event is free to members, non-members $5.
